My New Home! :)

My goodness, it's been a long time since I've blogged! Things have been busy with clients and my two little ones are keeping me running, that's for sure. Thank you so much to everyone who has been so supportive of our family through Sam's health issues. He is currently doing so well, and we're so blessed to have him! I firmly, firmly believe God gives us the children meant for us:) I'm excited to announce that my blog is changing addresses. My new home will be www.apathoftheheart.wordpress.com. I love some of the features wordpress allows, so I'm very excited to get up and running over there. The rest of my contact info is the same, so for more info about Christian Adoption Consultants, the services we offer, or to learn more about domestic adoption, you can email me at karalee@christianadoptionconsultants.com or call me at 574-527-7049. Off to get my new blog up and running... :)

Awesome Resource!

I know firsthand that one of the hardest hurdles to overcome when thinking about adopting is the financial aspect of the process. Adoptions can range drastically in cost due to circumstantial issues - medical care, legal issues, etc. I just finished the book, "Adopt Without Debt," and my goodness do I wish I had read it five years ago before we adopted our first!! The book talks about ways to find extra money in your household budget, a TON of creative financing ideas and stories of more than 30 adoptive families and how they adopted without debt. I highly, highly recommend it! :)
There is a link to the author's website HERE and you can also buy the book there, too, if interested!

Ahhh, Tax Time:)

One of the best resources financially for us as adoptive parents is the Adoption Tax Credit. I've found personally, and I know lots of you have, too, that the IRS is very specific on what they want from you and that they tend to audit those of us applying for the tax credit, so it's important to do those taxes carefully!! A great link was posted on our main CAC page, and I wanted to share it here, as well. It's an article called Top Ten Tips for Avoiding Delays When Filing for the Adoption Tax Credit, and it's an awesome resource. I'll link it HERE.

Congratulations Mark and Tammy!

After eight long years of waiting and hoping and praying and enduring procedures and loss and pain, I am absolutely thrilled to congratulation Mark and Tammy on the birth and adoption of their daughter, Hannah. This new mommy has become a dear, dear friend of mine, and I'm honored to have been able to be a tiny part of their adoption journey. God is so good! What a Merry little Christmas miracle this sweet girl is to all of us! Congrats, Mommy and Daddy! :)
